Retrofit Heatexchanger

Installing a solar system normally has a double benefit, 1. An older poorly insulated water cylinder is removed, the new cylinder can save up to 2000 kWh per year through less heat wastage 2. By installing a good quality solar panel an additional 2000 kWh can be generated. Occassionally, a good quality cylinder is already installed but unfortnately does not have a solar loop. In these situtations, a retro-fit heat exchanger can be fitted. There are three options here

  • Internal Coil, normally using the immersion boss
  • External plate heat exchanger (pumped)
  • External plate heat exchanger (thermosyphon)
